SCPC Assessed that the AAAVMS Had Not Violated the Electoral Code by Temporary Employments

Skopje, 9 May 2019 – The State Commission for Preventing Corruption (SCPC) assessed that the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services had not violated the Electoral Code or the Law on Preventing Corruption and Conflict of Interests by the temporary engagement of two persons (jurists) during the electoral process of the 2019 Presidential Elections.

After having received relevant data and information from the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, the SCPC concluded that “the hiring of two persons – jurists – for a limited period of time via the Temporary Employment Agency on the part of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services during the 2019 Presidential Elections, was carried out for the purpose of meeting the legal obligations of the Agency during the electoral process and these employments do not constitute violation of the prohibitions laid down in the Electoral Code or the Law on Preventing Corruption and Conflict of Interests, as these were urgent and imperative matters, for which finances had previously been approved by means of a Decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.”
