Students of “Goce Delcev” University in Stip pay visit to the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services

Skopje, 12.12.2015 – The students of several departments of the Faculty of Law at the “Goce Delcev” University in Stip paid a visit to the Agency

for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services yesterday, as part of their practical media law classes. During their stay, they were acquainted with the everyday work of the Agency, and were able to obtain additional knowledge about media regulation and the work of the media industry in the Republic of Macedonia.

Through several presentations, the Agency employees presented the organization and the competencies of the Agency, and spoke about the types of broadcasters, the procedure for allocating radio and television broadcasting licenses, the broadcasters’ legal obligations regarding the programme and the manner of conducting supervision, the programme package registration and the supervision of the operators of public electronic communication networks, the manner of imposing measures, as well as the Agency’s projects of broader public interest related to the activities for promoting media literacy development, research into gender issues, the measures for ensuring access to the media for persons with sensory disabilities and the popularization of the legal right to correction and reply to published information.

The Agency welcomes the interest shown by the students in gaining new knowledge, which they will implement in their future professional development, and remains open to further cooperation with all universities and schools that are interested to share experiences in the sphere of media and media regulation.
