Skopje, 5 April 2021 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services condemns yesterday’s incident in which a police officer from the Veles Police Department prevented the journalist of the Duma.mk portal, Stefani Maneva, from performing her professional duties.

The media should be provided conditions for their professional operations, and journalists must not be hindered in performing their duties at any time, because any obstruction of their work constitutes violation of the freedom of information and the right to know, and is absolutely unacceptable.

Bearing in mind that only free media lead to promoting the democratic processes, the Agency appeals, as on many occasions before, to allow the journalists to perform their socially responsible profession without any obstructions and with dignity.
