Radio Stations May Voluntarily Declare Amounts of Domestic Music They Intend to Air by 5 January 2023

Skopje, 12 December 2022 – With regard to the legally prescribed option for the radio stations to voluntarily declare the percentages of domestic music they intend to broadcast, the radio stations that will decide to broadcast domestic music in 2023, with the purpose of having their license fees deducted, should report the intended amounts to the Agency no later than 5 January 2023.


“Civil Society & Think Tank” Forum Held in Berlin

Skopje, 2 November 2022 – Organized by the Aspen Institute, Germany, and the Association of Southeast Europe, this year’s “Civil Society & Think Tank” Forum was held on 1 and 2 November in Berlin. The Forum included a Panel dedicated to disinformation in the Western Balkans. As one of the panelists, Zoran Trajchevski, Director of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, pointed out, the countries of the Western Balkans, just as the rest of the world, had not remained immune to the upsurge of disinformation and fake news.[…]


Skopje, 1 November 2022 – Yesterday, the Media Literacy Network held its 2022 Annual Meeting as part of this year’s Media Literacy Days. Presented at the meeting were the results of the vote for two new members of the Network’s Coordination Group, due to the expiry of the mandate of the previous members. According to the votes, Vesna Nikodinovska of MIM was reelected, while Bojan Shashevski of MOF Radio was elected as the second member.



Workshop Held on the Media Needs of People with Disabilities

Skopje, 28 October 2022 – Today, as part of the 2022 Media Literacy Days, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services held a workshop titled “Accessibility without Undue Delay – Media Needs of People with Disabilities”. The workshop was aimed at helping broadcasters and providers of on-demand audiovisual media services to manage more easily their obligations under the revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive, according to which they will have to make their programmes accessible to people with disabilities.[…]

Agency Grants Donation to Broadcasters by Reducing the 2023 License Fee

 Skopje, 29 September 2022 – Considering the current developments resulting from the energy crisis and the considerable increase in the electricity prices, which directly affects the functioning and the economic viability of the broadcasters, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services will provide financial assistance, i.e. a donation to the broadcasters, which will be realized by means of reducing their radio and television broadcasting license fees for 2023.[…]
