Summary of the first sequel of the 19th session and of the 23rd session

SKOPJE, 06/19/2012 – on the first sequel of the nineteenth session, the BC analyzed and acknowledged the Information on the public interests projects, whose aim is to implement the recommendations contained in the Final audit report of State Audit Office.
Several broadcasting entities did not submit information on the economical functioning in 2011 and accordingly, they have been sentenced concrete measures. Written warning was sent to the broadcasting entity Intel, the broadcasting entity Novatel – plus LTD Prilep, the broadcasting entity Gaudeamus, radio Klasik FM Martin LTD, the Broadcasting association DJ Slave LTD Struga, the broadcasting entity Eko- proekt LTD export-import Kriva Palanka, the broadcasting entity Radio Fokus LTD Tetovo and the broadcasting entity Energy Radio LTD export-import Struga. The broadcasting entity Kanal 8 TV LTD Kochani received a written warning with a demand for publishing. On its 23rd session, the BC analyzed the Information regarding the payment of the compensation for the license for performing broadcasting activity for terrestrial broadcast, the condition until the 19th June 2012 and it decided to initiate a procedure for revoking the license for performing broadcasting activity of the broadcasting entities that did not pay for the license within the envisaged deadline i.e. did not pay the compensation for the license in its totality. Otherwise, the BC shall revoke their licenses. The Council also discussed the possibility for a new television, and it decided to make a market research and to consult the Agency for Electronic Communications for any free frequencies.
The information on the undertaken measures and activities according to the recommendations from the authorized State audit contained in the Final audit report – IZMP ‘’Analysis of the undertaken measures and activities related to the BC obligation from the Beacon: Undertaking steps for securing of the complete application of article 11 and the articles 13-20 from the Broadcasting Activity Law, including the guarantee that the necessary executive competences and measures have been established; ‘’the Information regarding the exemption from paying of the broadcasting fee for the population living in village Nogaevski, Gradsko’’ were analyzed and adopted by the BC.
After the conducted monitoring of the broadcasters’ program services, the Broadcasting Council sentenced the following measures and indications:
24 Vesti TV: no violations
Sonce TV: 1 indication
Nasha TV: 2 written warnings and 2 written warning with demands for publishing
AB Kanal TV: 3 written warnings and 1 indication
Kanal 5 Plus TV: 1 written warning with a demand for publishing
Sitel 3 TV: 2 indications and 1 written warning with a demand for publishing
Alfa TV: 1 written warning with a demand for publishing
The Broadcasting Council took a positive attitude regarding the demand of Alfa TV Skopje in terms of the reported technical problem by the broadcaster and it decide to give the broadcaster an additional deadline, until the middle of September to remove the technical problem.
