Skopje, November 5, 2013 – Today, in the Info Centre of the European Union the IPA project entitled “Enhancing the administrative capacities of telecom and media authorities for efficient regulation of new digital and multiple play services” was promoted.
The audience was addressed by His Excellency Mr. Aivo Orav, Head of the EU Delegation, Mr. Ivo Ivanovski, Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr. Robert Ordanovski , Director of the Agency for Electronic Communications, PhD Zoran Trajchevski, President of the Broadcasting Council and Mr. Sandor Spakievics, Team Leader of the project.
This is the first such project of the Broadcasting Council and as the President of the Broadcasting Council , PhD Zoran Trajchevski stated, the expectations from it are great. Expert assistance will be used in the drawing up of bylaws deriving from the Law on Audiovisual Media Services and the Law on the Media, regarding the application of the new rules on media concentration, promotion of the surveys of the broadcasting market, preparation of a programmme for media literacy whereby citizens will gain skills and knowledge of both traditional and new communication services. Expectations are that the end result will be a regulatory body for media which under no terms is lagging behind the European practices, whereof, above all, there will be benefits for the citizens, the media , the public communication networks operators , and ultimately the whole of society.
