PUBLICATION ON “ALGORITHMS AND HUMAN RIGHTS” TRANSLATED

Skopje, 31 July 2020 – Given the rapid pace of technological change, the development of techniques for automatic data processing (algorithms) and their impact on the human rights, the publication of the Council of Europe, “Algorithms and Human Rights”, was translated into Macedonian on the request of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, as part of the JUFREX project.

Skopje, 31 July 2020 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services is concerned about the state of the freedom of information due to the decision of the Primary Public Prosecutor’s Office to file charges against the journalist and editor-in-chief of the “Business Leader” portal, Ljupco Zlatev, for publishing internal documents of the Security and Counterintelligence Directorate.

Skopje, 28 July 2020 – The Council of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services categorically rejects the allegations of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia that the Agency Director tried to exert influence on the members of the Council to reach a decision to the detriment of Alsat-M TV and Telma TV, at the Council’s session held on 15 July 2020.

Threats Against Journalists Are Absolutely Unacceptable

Skopje, 24 July 2020 – Reacting to the threats made on the social network “Facebook” against the journalist of “Sloboden Pechat (Free Press)”, Miroslava Burns, the Agency expresses its condemnation and wishes to remind that such incidents are not only absolutely unacceptable, but they also pose a threat to the freedom of informing.
