Skopje, 9 August 2016 – Pursuant to Article 196-e, Paragraph 2, of the Law on Amending and Supplementing the Electoral Code, which entered into force on 1 August 2016, today, the Director of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services appointed four members to the Ad Hoc Committee for Observing Media Coverage.
The members appointed on the proposal of the pol
itical party of VMRO-DPMNE are Ms. Slagjana Dimishkova, Chair of the MAN Journalist Agency, a long-time journalist and editor of the “Vest” daily, and Mr. Cvetin Chilimanov, a long-time journalist, reporter, columnist and analyst. Appointed on the proposal of the political party of SDSM are Mr. Ljubomir Kostovski, a journalist and editor of the online edition of the “Globus” magazine, and Mr. Goran Trpenovski, a journalist and editor of the political column of the “Vest” daily.
The Director of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services will appoint the fifth member to the Ad Hoc Committee upon receiving a proposal previously adopted by the four members by way of a consensus, within 15 days from their appointment, i.e. by 23 August at the latest.
The Ad Hoc Committee’s mandate will last until the completion of the 2016 early elections of Members to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.
