Skopje, 19.07.2017 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services condemns yesterday’s incident in Chair Municipality, in which a journalist crew of Shenja TV was exposed to threats by persons who claimed they were supporters of a certain political party
.
The essence of journalist profession is to make sure that the public is informed about all issues. Hence, journalists must not be hindered when reporting on any problem, regardless of whether it concerns all citizens or only the population of a certain local community.
As many times so far, we appeal once more for respect for the dignity of media workers and for providing the conditions the media need to do their job professionally.
