Skopje, 22 March 2024 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services condemns yesterday’s physical attack on the journalist Furkan Saliu of PortalIks by the bailiff Vesna Jakimovska from Kichevo.
Considering that the Criminal Code treats attacks on journalists as attacks against an official, this kind of behavior by persons who execute parts of the legal system is absolutely unacceptable.
The Agency points out, as it has done on a number of occasions before, that it is necessary to ensure conditions for the media representatives’ safe and professional performance of their job tasks.
