AVMU and NKM Hold Bilateral Meeting in Prishtina

 Prishtina, 22 May 2024 – At their meeting in Prishtina today, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and the Independent Commission for Media of the Republic of Kosovo (NKM) agreed to extend their mutual cooperation and improve the exchange of good practices in the field of media regulation.

 The representatives of the two regulatory bodies discussed a number of issues related to the harmonization of domestic regulations with the European acquis and the implementation of the obligations arising from the revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive. A special focus was placed on the way of implementing the monitoring the media content during electoral processes.

During the meeting, the Kosovo regulator presented their system for monitoring programming contents broadcasted by the radio and television channels, and for receiving the signals of the operators that retransmit programming services.

At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that bilateral relations are important and that this practice would continue in the future.
