Skopje, 23 May 2024 – Today, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services published its reports on paid political advertising (PPA) aired during the second round of the Presidential Elections and the 2024 Parliamentary Elections.
In the second round of the election campaign for the Presidential Elections, a total of 57 broadcasters (32 television and 25 radio channels) concluded contracts with the two participants in the election campaign. Of the 10 national television stations, the ones two air most commercials were Kanal 5 TV (24 hours, 1 minute and 32 seconds), Sitel TV (16 hours, 25 minutes and 16 seconds) and Alfa TV (14 hours, 24 minutes and 43 seconds), while, of the 4 national radio stations, the ones with the most aired advertisements were Antena 5 Radio (8 hours, 31 minutes and 40 seconds) and Kanal 77 (4 hours, 32 minutes and 7 seconds).
A total of 160 hours, 58 minutes and 32 seconds of PPA were broadcasted in favour of the presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski (128 hours, 48 minutes and 43 seconds on TV, and 32 hours, 9 minutes and 49 seconds on the radio channels), while candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova had a total of 122 hours and 22 seconds of aired PPA (75 hours, 14 minutes and 5 seconds on TV, and 46 hours, 46 minutes and 17 seconds on the radio).
As regards the Parliamentary Elections, a total of 567 hours, 43 minutes and 31 seconds of paid political advertising were broadcast on 68 broadcasters (39 television and 29 radio stations) that had concluded contracts with the participants in the election campaign. Of the 11 national television stations, Alsat-M TV (44 hours, 12 minutes and 27 seconds), Kanal 5 TV (35 hours, 58 minutes and 4 seconds) and Kompani 21-M TV (33 hours, 5 minutes and 57 seconds) had the longest durations of advertisements, while Antena 5 Radio (15 hours, 22 minutes and 35 seconds) and Kanal 77 Radio (10 hours, 6 minutes and 46 seconds) had broadcasted the most commercials out of the 4 national radio channels.
