Skopje, 7 October 2025 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services (AVMU) has issued a strong condemnation of the language used by Zoran Bozhinovski, editor-in-chief of burevesnik.info, in his posts on the social media platform Facebook, directed at male and female journalists.
The expressions Bozhinovski has been using over an extended period of time are extremely vulgar and totally inappropriate for any form of public communication. The sole purpose of such language is to launch crude attacks, discredit, and humiliate media professionals.
His posts contain no arguments, but only insults and defamation, which directly undermines ethical standards and the professional norms that form the backbone of democratic media functioning. Such behavior stands in stark contrast to the basic principles of respectful and responsible public discourse.
By persistently disregarding the dignity of journalists, Bozhinovski is contributing to the creation of a hostile environment, one that can easily escalate into pressure, intimidation, hate speech, and, in the most severe cases, physical violence.
The Agency strongly condemns this conduct and is calling on all public actors to take responsibility, manifest awareness about the weight of their actions, and refrain from using language that serves only to insult, demean, or incite hatred against media workers.
