Conference Held on “Media Literacy in the Macedonian Formal  Education: In or Out”

On 22 February 2018, in Skopje, a conference was held on “Media Literacy in the Macedonian Formal Education: In or Out”. At this event, the need was stressed for continuous trainings of the teaching staff in the primary and secondary schools. The event was organized by the School of Journalism and Public Relations, in partnership with the Media Diversity Institute (MDI) and the “Nova Makedonija” daily. Handbook on Personal Data Protection and the Media

A Handbook on Personal Data Protection and the Media has been published as part of the activities of the “Personal Data Protection and the Media” Project, financed by the EU’s IPA TAIB 2012 Programme and supported by the Directorate for Personal Data Protection. Active Engagement by All Relevant Stakeholders Needed to Promote Media Literacy

On 28 and 29 March 2017, the Macedonian Media Institute organized a regional conference titled “Media Literacy and the Educational Needs of the Journalists and the Public”.

The conference was organized as part of the regional project titled “Southeast-European Partnership for Media Development”, implemented by the Centre for Independent Journalism based in Romania, in cooperation with eight media organizations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bulgaria, with the support from the European Union.

Parents’ Guide for Children’s On-Line Privacy and Personal Data Protection 

In the interest of protecting child population from access to indecent contents and communications, as well as abuse of personal data on the social networks, the Directorate for Personal Data Protection, the “Metamorphosis” Foundation for Internet and Society and the Skopje City high schools prepared a Parents’ Guide for Children’s On-Line Privacy and Personal Data Protection.

The Agency publishes the link to the Guide as part of the cooperation aimed ultimately at creating a network of relevant factors who will be cooperating to raise the level of media literacy among the citizens in the Republic of Macedonia.
