Held workshop “Self-regulation and co-regulation in the media”

SKOPJE, 03.12.2014 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, in the frames of the project “Promoting of the freedom of expression and information and of the freedom of the media in Southeast Europe”,

in cooperation with the Council of Europe, held a workshop on the subject “Self-regulation and co-regulation in the media” on 3rd December. Zoran Trajchevski, PhD, Director of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and Lejla Dervishagikj, Head and Programme Manager of the Media Department in the Council of Europe, had introductory speeches on the workshop. The expert of the Council of Europe and former president of the Belgium media authority, Marc Janssen, the Deputy President of the Agency for Electronic Media in Croatia, Damir Hajduk, and the Head of the Legal Department of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, Cvetanka Mitrevska and Kristina Sinadinovska, President of the Council for Media Ethics, had presentations on the subject. Namely, the concept of self-regulation and co-regulation in Europe (EU and the Council of Europe), the areas of self-regulation and co-regulation and the role of regulatory authorities, as well as the self-regulation and co-regulation in the countries of Southeast Europe and the processes of self-regulation and co-regulation of media on the national level in the Republic of Macedonia were presented.
