Working visit of the Agency by experts of the regulatory body for media of France

Skopje, 5 December 2014 – On 4 and 5 December, representatives of the regulatory body for media from France (CSA) visited the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services of the Republic of Macedonia.

The French delegation was composed of the following persons: Mr. Jules Murot – Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation, Mr. Toma Dotie – Deputy Director of the Programme Sector and Mr. Bertrand Millet – Advisor for EU integration of the Macedonian Government.
During the visit, the composition, competencies and the scope of work of both regulatory bodies were presented, experiences regarding the securing of political pluralism during elections and out of the election campaign were exchanged; the limitations for receipt and retransmission of audiovisual media services from other countries – linear and non-linear (regulatory frame, the manner of determining whether the conditions for limitation and further actions are fulfilled); supervision of the obligation of the broadcasters for broadcasting European audiovisual works and works from independent producers; legal framework and the experience for promoting the production and the access to European audiovisual works by the providers of audiovisual media services on demand and implementation of the provisions of the AVMS Directive for placement of products (exception from the provision for placement of products, marking of programmes in which products, children’s programmes are placed and placement of products). The Director of the Agency, Zoran Trajchevski, PhD, and the CSA experts welcomed the joint cooperation and the possibilities of its extension.
