Skopje, 5 December 2016 – While monitoring the coverage of the elections by TV Nova DOOEL Skopje, TV MTM DOOEL Skopje, K Tri Televizija DOOEL Kumanovo and EF-EM 90.3 Sportsko Radio DOOEL Skopje, the Agency detected violations of certain articles of the Electoral Code related to paid political advertising.
The monitoring of TV Nova DOOEL Skopje, TV MTM DOOEL Skopje and K Tri Televizija DOOEL Kumanovo indicated noncompliance with Article 75-f, Paragraph 1 of the Electoral Code, as these broadcasters had aired more than 8 minutes of paid political advertising by the ruling political parties per real hour, while TV Nova DOOEL Skopje had also aired paid political advertising in particular information programmes.
The monitoring over EF-EM 90.3 Sportsko Radio DOOEL Skopje found that, contrary to Article 76, Paragraphs1 and 2 of the Electoral Code, this broadcaster had aired paid political advertising that had not been separated appropriately from the other contents of the medium’s programme and had not clearly marked the entity that had ordered the advertising.
