Skopje, 11 December 2016 – Based on the written reports on monitoring the coverage of the elections by TV Sonce DOOEL Prilep, Televizija Nova DOOEL Skopje, TV Edo DOOEL s. Ljubin, Saraj, TV Komani 21-M TV DOOEL Skopje, HDTV Kanal Plus DOOEL Skopje and Radio Kanal 77 DOOEL Shtip, the Ad Hoc Committee for Observing Media Coverage submitted Action Proposals to the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services.
The Ad Hoc Committee submitted proposals to initiate misdemeanour procedures, upon which the court would pronounce misdemeanour sanctions in the form of fines, against Televizija Nova DOOEL Skopje, TV Edo DOOEL s. Ljubin, Saraj and HDTV Kanal Plus DOOEL Skopje, due to their violation of Article 75-f, Paragraph 1, i.e. due to airing more than 8 minutes of paid political advertising on behalf of the ruling political parties.
The Ad Hoc Committee submitted proposals to initiate misdemeanour procedures, upon which the court would pronounce misdemeanour sanctions in the form of warnings, against TV Sonce DOOEL Prilep and TV Komani 21-M TV DOOEL Skopje, for violating the election silence stipulated by Article 76-b, Paragraph 3, and against Radio Kanal 77 DOOEL Shtip, for violating Article 76, Paragraph 1 of the Electoral Code and airing paid political advertising that was not appropriately marked or clearly separated from the remaining contents in the medium’s programme.
