Skopje, 13 December 2016 – Further to the action proposals submitted by the Ad Hoc Committee for Observing Media Coverage, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services filed requests with the competent court to initiate misdemeanor proceedings, whereupon the court would pronounce misdemeanor sanctions in the form of warnings against three broadcasters.
Misdemeanor procedures have been initiated against TV Sonce DOOEL Prilep and TV Kompani 21-M DOOEL Skopje, due to violation of the election silence and Article 76-b, Paragraph 3, of the Electoral Code, and against Radio Kanal 77 DOOEL Shtip, for violating Article 76, Paragraph 1, of the Electoral Code, and for broadcasting paid political advertising that was not appropriately marked or clearly separated from the other contents of the medium’s programme.
