Skopje, 9 August 2022 – In regard to yesterday’s incident involving employees of the “Komunalna higiena” (Communal Hygiene) Public Enterprise in Skopje and a news reporting crew of the Klan TV, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services wishes to underline that everyone should behave decently and with dignity, especially when performing their professional duties.
The public institutions should be open and transparent and should invest every effort to ensure unhindered access to information to media representatives when the letter report on topics of public interest.
If journalists are in any way prevented from obtaining the information requested, they should inform the public accordingly. At the same time, when performing their work, media workers should manifest professional responsibility, respect the ethical and journalistic principles and standards of reporting and protect the reputation of their profession.
