Skopje, 22 August 2023 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services condemns yesterday’s verbal and physical attack on the cameraman and the female journalists of Alsat-M TV, as well as the threats they received during the recording of a footage in the Skopje Old Bazaar.
Any kind of attacks against media workers are absolutely unacceptable and their safety must never be brought into question. Life threats constitute serious crime and those who violate the law should be sanctioned accordingly in order to prevent such and similar crimes in the future.
As on several occasions so far, the Agency wishes to point out that it is necessary to provide conditions for the safe and professional performance of the tasks of media representatives.
