Skopje, 15 January 2024 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, because this Ministry has been violating the Law on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services for quite some time.
Namely, the Ministry has been continuously transferring less funds than those legally prescribed for the development of the broadcasting activity. This practice has been jeopardizing the operation of these funds’ beneficiaries – the Agency, the Macedonian Radio and Television and the Macedonian Radio Broadcasting public enterprise, as well as of the entire audiovisual sector, including the media, as non-compliance with the law brings into question the access to EU funds for financing audiovisual projects and for development of the audiovisual sphere.
With regard to this, the Director of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services Zoran Trajchevski, Ph.D., shall give a statement to the media today, 15 January 2024, at 13:30 hrs.
He will make the statement at the premises of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, at the press room on the 2nd floor.
