May 15, 2012 The Broadcasting Council has given A2 TV a deadline of seven days to adjust its program with the format from the license

Skopje, May 15, 2012 – The Broadcasting Council (BC) on the satellite TV Station A2 has given a deadline of seven days to adjust the broadcasted program according to the format contained in the license.

The final monitoring conducted by the Broadcasting Council of the program service of the A2 TV showed that this broadcaster seriously deviates from the assigned general – mainly entertainment program format which represents a serious violation of the broadcasting activity law, which also envisages revoking of the license. The Broadcasting Council’s monitoring confirmed that over 90% of the A2 TV’s program was musical videos, and programs with educational and informative function were lacking.
The members of the Broadcasting Council have personally informed the trustee of the bankrupt’s estate of A2 TV, Aco Petrov, as well as the manager of the television station – Toni Nikolovski and they have pointed out to them the legal consequences of such type of violation of the broadcasting activity law.
Previously, after the conducted regular monitoring of A2 TV program service in which serious deviation were noticed, the Broadcasting Council, in several attempts, has pointed out to the management of the television station about the obligation related to the respect of the program format contained in the license.
