Regional Conference on the topic “Strengthening the independence of the media regulatory bodies in South East Europe”

 

On 14 and 15 November 2013, in Przhno, Republic of Montenegro a conference is held on the topic “Strengthening the independence of the media regulatory bodies in South East Europe. “

The purpose of holding the conference is a discussion on the European standards for the independence and functioning of the media regulatory bodies, their mandate and authorisations, the new challenges and the role of the regulatory bodies in terms of digital broadcasting. Representatives of the media regulatory bodies, the relevant ministries and non-governmental organisations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo attended the conference.

 

The conference was attended by the following representatives of the Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Macedonia , PhD Zoran Trajchevski , President of the Broadcasting Council , PhD Milaim Fetai, Deputy President of the Council and Seljadin Xhezairi, a member of the Broadcasting Council. During the previous day, a presentation on the independence and functioning of the Broadcasting Council in the practice was given by PhD Zoran Trajchevski and PhD Milaim Fetai.

In the course of this day, a presentation on the transparency and accountability of the media regulatory bodies including a review on the Macedonian experience and practice will be given by the President of the Broadcasting Council, PhD Zoran Trajchevski.
