Skopje 5 February 2014 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Information Society and Administration and the telecommunications operator “ONE”, held a press – conference today where the project for monitoring of regional television stations was presented.
This project allows the signal of all TV programme services that broadcast regionally through a multiplex to be directly received at the premises of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services.
By the optical connection of the telecommunications operator “ONE” with the Agency, recording of all television programme services that broadcast via a digital terrestrial multiplex of ” ONE ” was ensured , and thus the number of television services that are directly received at the Agency’s premises increased to 40 TV services, which is more than 60 percent of the total number of televisions in Macedonia”, stated the President of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, PhD Zoran Trajchevski. This is only the first stage in the process of upgrading the recording system of the Agency, since, as Trajchevski stated, its capacity will continue to increase, primarily through the project of EU Pre-Accession Assistance – IPA 2011.
The expectations of this process are, as the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Ivo Ivanovski indicated, that it will strengthen the professionalism of the Macedonian media and allow adequate compliance with programme standards in accordance with the legal principles.
The General and Executive Director of “One” expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of this activity, especially considering that it was timely and successfully implemented.
The system for trans-coding, segmentation, recording and transfer of regional television services that broadcast via a digital terrestrial multiplex and the software for analysis of the broadcasted programmes of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services were presented to the participants.
