Skopje, 21 September 2018 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services reminds the broadcasters that they may publish results of public opinion polls regarding the Referendum no later than five days before the date when the voting is scheduled. Consequently, the results of the public opinion polls may be published by Monday, 24 September 2018 (inclusive).

The pre-referendum silence begins 48 hours before the voting day, i.e. on 28 September 2018 (Friday) and end with the closure of the polling stations at 19:00 hrs on 30 September 2018. During the blackout, all forms of pubic propaganda related to the Referendum should cease.

For more details as to what is considered as violation of the blackout, the broadcasters can consult the Guidelines for Media Coverage during Referenda, available at the Agency’s website, under the banner REFERENDUM 2018.

The reports of the detected violations and the first report on the media coverage of the Referendum will be published next week.
