Skopje, 4 February 2019 – As regards the legal opportunity for the radio stations to voluntarily report the percentage of domestic music they would be airing, the Agency Council adopted Guidelines at its today’s session, which set the deadlines for applying, the genre and the time of airing music.
The radio stations will have their license fees reduced based on the voluntarily registered percentage of domestic music to be aired, i.e. music in the Macedonian language and the languages of the ethnic communities. The minimum discount obtained on these grounds may be 10 %, and the highest one – 30 %.
The radio programming services may air even more than 30 % music in the Macedonian language and the languages of the ethnic communities, yet the license fee discount will be no more than 30%.
This year, the deadline for applying will be 8 February (Friday). The application can be made by submitting a letter on the broadcaster’s part electronically, to firstname.lastname@example.org , or at the Agency’s Archiving Office.
