Skopje, 28 February 2019 – The initial findings of the Agency’s supervision of the interview that the journalist Sasho Ordanovski had with the VMRO/DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski, aired by 1 TV last night, show that, in certain parts of the interview, the journalist violated the principles of respecting a person’s dignity, the presumption of innocence and the objective and impartial depiction of the events while providing equal treatment of diverse viewpoints and opinions under Article 61 of the Law on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services.
The report will be published on the Agency’s website and submitted to the Agency Council. In the meantime, the regulatory authority wishes to underline that the media outlets’ professionalism implies respect for all principles of performing their business activity, based on the journalistic standards.
