Skopje, 14 September 2022 – OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Teresa Ribeiro had a working meeting with representatives of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, yesterday. She was accompanied by Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission in Skopje Jeff Goldstein, Director of the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Jürgen Heisel and Assistant Research Officer Šejla Jusufović.
During the cordial discussion, Mrs. Ribeiro showed interest in the challenges that the Agency was facing in its work in terms of financing and the delay in the election of new members of the Council, as well as in the future activities towards harmonizing media-related regulations with the EU Directive on Audiovisual Media Services and the regulator’s involvement in this process.
The participants in the meeting discussed other topics as well, including the current state of play in the media sphere.
