Skopje, May 6, 2024 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services informs the broadcasters that the election silence for the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections begins tonight at midnight, and shall last until 8 May 2024, 19:00 hrs.
During the silence, the media outlets shall continue to report on the electoral process; however, all forms of electoral media representation of the participants in the election campaign shall halt.
According to the Electoral Code, considered as violation of the election silence shall be the broadcasting of any information, photos, audio and audiovisual materials related to or involving participants in the elections; any forms of media reporting that openly or covertly serve one’s campaign and may influence the decision of the voters; data revealing the identity of political entities and/or individuals involved in incidents or irregularities on the day of voting, as well as statements made by candidates in the electoral process, representatives of political parties and holders of offices in the government bodies.
