With the aim of explaining the way of and the conditions for exercising the right to reply and correction on the part of the physical or legal entities who consider that media have harmed their reputation, honour or interests by having published untrue, wrongful, false or partial information related to them, the Agency has published a leaflet titled “Reply to and Correction of Untrue, Wrongful, False or Partial Information”.
The leaflet is intended for the broader public and is available (only in Macedonian) at this link.
The Agency has drawn up a Plan For Popularizing The Right to Correction and Reply. The activities projected by this Plan do not exceed its competences as a regulatory body. The target groups include the citizens and the legal entities, as well as the providers of audio and audiovisual media services.
Regarding the first group, the goal of the planned measures is to raise citizens and legal entities’ awareness about the opportunity to correct false information, as well as to protect their honour and reputation by using the mechanism provided by the Media Law. As for the second group, the intention is to make the providers of audio and audiovisual media services better acquainted with their obligations and rights when publishing a reply or correction.
