Skopje, September 24, 2012 – The Broadcasting Council informed all operators of public communication networks that they must respect the rights for broadcasting and retransmission of the matches of the UEFA-Champions’ League, UEFA-Europe League and other sports leagues and championships.
Any retransmission of the foreign TV channels, which broadcast these sporting events with no regulated rights for the territory of Macedonia, represents violation of the Broadcasting Law and the Law on Copyright Protection, which induce legal sanctions.
During this period BC will be conducting intensified monitoring of the retransmitted programming through the public communication networks in Republic of Macedonia, in order to prevent any illegal broadcasts or retransmissions.
