Skopje, 29 November 2016 – Based on the written reports on the monitoring of the coverage of elections by 18 programming services in the period 11-20 November 2016, the Ad-hoc Committee for Observing Media Coverage submitted Action Proposals to the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services.
The Ad Hoc Committee submitted proposals to initiate misdemeanour procedures, whereby the court would pronounce misdemeanor sanctions in the form of fines, against TV Nova DOOEL Skopje and against TV Sitel DOOEL Skopje, due to violation of Article 75, Paragraph 1, of the Electoral Code.
For violation of the same article, the Ad Hoc Committee submitted a proposal to initiate misdemeanor procedure, whereby the court would pronounce a misdemeanor sanction in the form of warning, against TV Alfa DOOEL Skopje.
As regards all other programming services, the Ad Hoc Committee submitted proposals not to impose any measures.
