Skopje, 7 July 2022 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services condemns the problematic attitude a member of the Ministry of the Interior towards the cameraman of TV 24 during the protests.
The role of media workers when reporting on events of major social significance and high risk is to document and convey information that are of public interest. This is why it is very important to ensure safe and unhindered access for them, even in conditions where special security measures are in place.
In the context of the recent events, the Agency calls to respect the dignity of media workers and to enable them to carry out their professional activities without threats or pressures, i.e. provide timely and comprehensive information to the public.
