Skopje, 19 December 2016 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services conducted monitoring of the media coverage of the elections over 25 programming services at the regional level, in the period from 21 November until 9 December 2016.
The monitoring covered the following programming services: Ef-Em 90.3-Sportsko Radio DOOEL Skopje; TRD Radio Vat DOO Skopje; RTD Arachina DOOEL s. Arachinovo; TRD HDTV Kanal Plus DOOEL Skopje; TRD HDTV Mega DOOEL Skopje; TRD K Tri Televizija DOOEL Kumanovo; TRD Kanal Eden Televizija DOOEL Veles; TRD Kanal Tri DOOEL Debar; TRD Kapitol Radio DOOEL Skopje; TRD Klub FM DOO Skopje; TRD KTV DOOEL Kavadarci; TRD Radio Fortuna Violeta DOOEL Skopje; TRD Radio Rosa-AB DOOEL Skopje; TRD Regionalna TV O2 DOOEL Skopje; TRD Regionalna TV Ultra DOOEL Skopje; TRD Siti Radio DOOEL Skopje; TRD Skaj Radio Teodor DOOEL Skopje; TRD TV Era DOOEL Skopje; TRD TV Kiss DOOEL Tetovo; TRD TV Koha DOOEL Tetovo; TRD TV MTM DOOEL Skopje; TRD TV Shutel DOOEL Skopje; TRD TV EDO DOOEL Skopje; TRD Urban FM Radio DOOEL Skopje, and TRD TV Amazon DOOEL Skopje.
The monitoring was focused on the Articles of the Electoral Code referring to the covering of the elections in a balanced and unbiased manner throughout the broadcasters’ entire programmes, ensuring level playing field for all participants in the campaign in all forms of electoral presentation in the media; balanced coverage in line with the principle of proportionality based on the number of verified lists of MP candidates, and reporting on the regular activities of the state and municipal bodies, state institutions and legal and other entities entrusted by law to perform public duties, which must not play the role of electoral media presentation of any political entity.
