Skopje, 14 October 2026 – The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services expresses concern over the threats directed at journalists Aleksandar Mitovski and Milosh Miloshevski via the social network Facebook, including the published photomontage containing disturbing content and a threatening message.
The misuse of social networks to intimidate and exert pressure on journalists is absolutely unacceptable and poses a serious threat to their safety, as well as to freedom of expression and media freedom.
Differences of opinion and disagreements with media reporting must not serve as grounds for threats, pressure or attempts to silence journalists. Their safety and the unhindered performance of their professional duties are essential for free and independent journalism.
